So, I've meant to bring this up for a couple of years, but it's slipped my mind. I think one of the major problems with uptake on Crystal Space is that we don't have a lot of great showpieces that we can point to and say, "Look, here's this really cool project that was done with CS". I was thinking that perhaps, this year, we should think about foregoing development to the engine and focus on development of two components: 1) Tools (e.g. Ares) 2) Games Specifically, in #2, I was thinking we should see if we can get a few suggestions for small, single-serving games. Then, if we can get a few members of the community to help with game assets, we can have the student focus on the development of the code for the game itself. This would help us in two ways - 1) it would give us nice games that could be used as demos for the project, and 2) it would give the student a lot of flexibility and creative control over his/her project.
