Let me rephrase a bit. I know the syntax and concepts of C++ (actually, had a full semester's work on it for college) but I haven't been working at in a professional capacity. Anyway, I believe getting used to a language is not difficult, as the difficult part is figuring out the language agnostic parts such as the algorithms, the data structures, domain specific techniques, etc. These are the pain points you see in code regardless of the language :). So, I'll apply and hope the proposal gets accepted :). This is a learning experience after all. For a game, I'd actually like to use a couple of humanoid characters trapped in a room with a transparent wall between them. The wall would have cracks big enough for a bullet to go through. Each player gets a turn to position himself somewhere in the room and shoot at his opponent. The trick here is that you can curve the bullet (similar to the movie, Wanted), so you can position where the other player can't hit you dead on and curve it to hit the opponent. The concept is still at the preliminary stages. Does this sound like a good idea for the game?
