Did someone say podcasting?

Seriously, far more important than the quality of the mic is the quality 
of the dialog. Post production is critical. I do considerably less 
post-production for Biota.org Interviews;

Than I do for Ape Reality;

For Ape Reality, I spend about 3:1 in terms of post production versus 
delivery - cutting dead air, ums, ahs, and the occasional "my sense is". 
But relatively good delivery is critical. The rule of thumb is the first 
four podcasts are warm ups. For me, it was the first month. I podcast 
with an Olympus DM-10 with a stereo mic. It has never crashed on me and 
the audio quality is pretty good. I use Audacity and iTunes for final 
conversion and handcode my RSS. I walked Gerald and my mutual friend 
Bruce Damer through this process recently.

I podcast Ape Reality in stereo which already puts me ahead in terms of 
spacial audio over most other flat mono podcasts.

Content is critical too. You can't please all the people, all the time, 
but you need to keep the topics relatively broad with occasional focus 
rather than excessive focus and occasionally broad.

In short, don't get too hung up on tech versus content.

I'd really like to see many more ALife podcasts, so get busy people!
