back in the saddle

fluidiom development is once again underway, after a half-year pause to 
build up some financial reserves.

it's time to take this thing to the next level.  development ended 
rather abruptly in june of this year with a presentation that i gave in 
Rotterdam to a group of 50 or so people.  just a few days later i 
started on a very attention-consuming contract, and that's just ended.

i'm working right now to make the fluidiom web start application very 
friendly, and preparing things so that anybody anywhere can pick up a 
fluidiom runner and help evolve it further.  interested people will 
also be able to build their own new creatures and publish them.

i dream of having a bunch of machines enabling the evolution of a whole 
zoo of creatures in parallel.  my assumption is that what i have done 
with the software will be limited by my own point of view, and that 
others will be able to contribute creative ideas that i would never 
have  come up with myself.

stay tuned..  we plan to have a nice site up before the end of january. 
  there's already an initial web application checked in to CVS by my 
friend and new collaborator Sam Brodkin.  he's a top-notch Java 
developer with a lot of web app experience, and he's employing Spring 
MVC, which is the latest thing.  he says it's tighter than Struts, and 
he's a Struts know-it-all.  promising!

i hope a few of you will be interested enough to play around a bit, 
getting the ball rolling.  i'll keep you posted.
