You make a very good case Mario. I think you have convinced me. I guess if
it is what you feel is best, then it probably is for this application. Maybe
I just am too set in my ways with the old one. I DO like the new Forum. I do
see the advantages. I do not agree the performance is better. I could make 5
postings back and forth on Yahoo during the time it takes to do one on the
ubb. It is almost like instant messages. I realize that the performance may
not be so nice for those without a great broadband connection like we have
here.

In any ace, continue with the great work on IMATCH. I wish I knew how many
people have cone to it after my recommendations. I am retired and do work
part time selling Electronics ant Sam's Club and anyone that passes the
digital Camera area gets a good talk about IMATCH.

I once was a not very pleasant presence here but I have changed my ways, it
was you and your support and the usage of the program that did it. I am not
a pro but I think your program could be used by anyone with a computer. It
is hard to learn at first but the pluses outweigh the minuses. Every
software ahs some minuses but that dose not mean it should be ignored.

I really have to find the time to play with scripting. I wrote code for the
AS/400 OS so I should be able to get this, if I just spent the time. The
only problem is with skiing, chess, etc. it is hard to find :-)
Besides, the program does almost everything I want without scripts, or with
those provided by others.

Is there any chance that a way to distribute scripts will exist on ptforum,
similar to file are on YAHOO, that would be nice.

By the way, a shortcut to the ptforum on the desktop makes access pretty
fast, not too bad. I will post this over there too and pretty soon I can
delete membership in the yahoo forum.

Hi, Simon

Thanks for caring.
The Yahoo forum had only 3500 users (about 300 active users), which is only
a
part of the IMatch user base. Do not make the mistake to judge what users
want
or not want from the user forum on Yahoo alone. Most users don't even bother
to
read or post messages in such a forum. They write me directly, or talk to me
in
person when we meet.

I sometimes sit here and wonder why some users make so much fuss about
photools.com moving it's forums from an advertisement-infected Yahoo to one
of
our own servers, in a controlled environment. With much better performance
and a
working search function. Buddy lists. Favorite topics. Real threads. Good
visual
presentation even for long terms. The ability to create different forums
within
a single boards. Or, if needed, I can even create new boards for other
applications, systems or user groups. All this is now possible and was not
with
Yahoo.

This was a move I made. I always think about such things for a while,
believe
me. It took me months to find a forum software, to buy, implement, customize
and
test it. Now we have a shiny new forum, with excellent searching, a good
visual
presentation and world-wide accessibility without the need to give away
personal
information to Yahoo. No advertisements either, no SPAM so far. Already 500
users joined in a single week. It tool three years to build up the 3500
users on
Yahoo.

And, quite interesting, many users join the new forum, and participate, who
did
not join the old forum or where just "lurking".

The new forum it also part of a larger strategy that builds around the next
generation of IMatch.

Nobody pays for joining the user forum, for posting or reading messages.
If you have a support case, you can always contact me via one of the
official
support emails, and I will answer as usual. You do not need to join the new
forum. It's free. Don't join if you don't like it. Or, wait until the next
big
version of UBBThreads comes out. Should be not too far away. Perhaps they
add
the ability to send out individual emails. If this is such an important
feature
I think they will have it on their list. As soon as the new software is
available I will install it and we'll see what new tricks it has learned.
