I had exactly the same need for my course recently, except I also 
thought it would be good to be able to "unmark" the last view.

So my suggestion would be: you can mark views for printing.  In 
ipetoipe, we would replace -lastview by -markedviews.  This would print 
include only the marked views.  On pages where no view has been marked 
at all, it would automatically chose the last view.

Does that sound reasonable?
