setting up latex and pdflatex in ipe Mac OS 10.6

Hello,

I am a new user of ipe, and I am using it on Mac OS X 10.6. I cannot compile
latex on diagrams. I get the error:
 ipe[30862:903] failed to send request 0: -1
sh: pdflatex: command not found

I have pdflatex since I use it through emacs. How can I find what command
emacs is using and specify this to ipe.
