Sorry, I should have simply said "plus some features" instead of "plus alpha".
(seems just Engrish.)

Mmm... contrary to expectation, not a little...
I guess the biggest obstacle to widely implementing MNG is that the MNG
format *looks* too complex. Probably in most cases MNG-LC can meet the
demand for PNG animation as a matter of fact, so how about these:
1. Adding a new chunk for disposal methods to MNG-LC,
2. Renaming the current subsets to thus:
MNG-VLC -> MNG-Slideshow
MNG-LC -> MNG-Standard
MNG -> MNG-Full
3. Removing requirement for MNG-Standard to support the MAGN chunk, and
limiting the framing mode which can be used in MNG-Standard to mode 1
only. (Consecutive pairs of FRAM chunks with 0 delays and IHDR-IEND
with transparency can be substituted for one frame with multiple images,
and an image with opaque background can be substituted for erasing the
background.)
These changes will simplify implementing MNG-Standard.
By the way, if APNG could be approved in the png-list and the PNG spec would
be revised, would MNG which is the superset of PNG also be needed revised?
