Hi, I've done some more experiments. What I figured out is: - The unoptimized animation works well with libmng-1.0.5 as installed in debian sid. After updating to the CVS version of libmng, the background image is not any longer shown. The animation is played on a black background instead. - The optimized animation that uses a PAST chunk crashes both libmng-1.0.5 as well as the unmodified CVS version. After enlarging the buffers as described in my last mail, the optimized animation is displayed fine except that the background image is missing. There might of course be a problem with the MNG file I created, but I have the impression that (a) background handling broke between libmng-1.0.5 and 1.0.6 and (b) there's a bug in the display routines that are used to process a PAST chunk. The unoptimized and optimized MNG files can be found at http://sven.gimp.org/heart.mng http://sven.gimp.org/heart-opt.mng Please let me know if you need any further info or other examples to track down this problem.
