Hi David,

There may be other ways, but I find the easiest is to create my own =
diagram template. To do this, just create an empty document, set the =
various properties such as ruler units and unit scale the way you want =
them, then choose File > Export...=20

In the Export window, choose Omnigraffle Template as the format, give it =
a name such as "My custom document" and save it in [your =
username]/Library/Application Support/Omnigraffle/Templates.

You can load that template by simply choosing File > Template Chooser. =
But there's a better way. Go into Omnigraffle's preferences, and in the =
General tab check the Show template chooser option.

Next time you want a document, you'll see the Template Chooser opening, =
and under Misc you'll see your custom document template.

I'm always surprised at the limited scope OG offers to store =
preferences, BTW. For example, I'd like to set the options for text - I =
want my new textfields Arial Bold, 12pt and left-aligned, for example, =
but I can't set that as my default. There are many other options that =
seem equally un-settable.
