Re: Why is it that png files are not dependable over the long haul

The issue that you're having has existed for one month fourteen years ago.
Next year, it'll be fifteen years. In five years, it'll be about twenty
since it happened. It's in the distant past by this point. Unfortunately,
you were negatively affected by it. Unfortunately, not many others were.
Unfortunately, it's not a quick fix.

If you need to tweak libpng's behavior, just clone it, modify it, build it,
and keep it separate from the system version. No need for it to get
complicated.
