As it turns out, I somehow have some moderation powers and was able to 
quench the annoyance with the historical IJG project (jpeg 6b) and I 
think that I was able to quence some similar annoyances with this 
list.

If something new is created, the question will be if existing list 
members do subscribe to it, and is the new thing more resistant to 
spammers and annoying bots.
