APNG is coming back, definitely. Thanks to Apple, it already works in
iPhones and iPads, and not just in Safari:

Also, the patch for Chromium is in "pretty good shape, targeting M58":

That will cover pretty much 100% of the mobile web, and 90% of the desktop web.

The thing is, APNG chunks are acTL, fcTL and fdAT, and it's too late
to rename them, it became de-facto standard at this point.
