I would maybe suggest rewording this to put the burden on the
decoder:

"The PNG specification allows the chunk size to be as
large as 2^31-1 bytes, so decoders should be aware that,
if the Exif profile is converted to JPEG, it may be
necessary to reduce the total length of the Exif data
to fit inside the ~64 kbyte limit of a JPEG segment."
