Hello! It sound horribly similar to WinME bug I was experiencing. It was caused by division by zero exception not handled, and I got rid of it on WinME. but it seems, that something is still problem on Win98SE :-| Lim Siew Cheng kirjutas R, 06.02.2004 kell 15:07: > I'm installing the Win9x build of sodipodi with GTK-2.2.4.1 > and it crashes upon launching (OS: Win98SE) ... > So I swtiched to Win2000-XP build of it with the same GTK, well it worked > except now I have a MS-DOS prompt that says... > > ** (sodipodi.exe:4294822869): WARNING **: Couldn't load font "MS Sans > Serif 8" f > alling back to "Sans 8" > > ** (sodipodi.exe:4294822869): CRITICAL **: file > \Lauris\sodipodi-0.33\src\help.c > : line 46: assertion `doc != NULL' failed It cannot read any file probably, because Win2000/XP builds have been compiled with unicode versions of standard libraries, but Win98 does not implement those. > Plus, all the graphics icons are blanked out like > http://studentweb.usq.edu.au/home/d1230412/testing.gif This is because it cannot load icons.svg file :-( You may try: - Install Win9X version, remove icons.svg, check, whether it still crashes on startup - Install Win9X version, try different gtk+ installs (you can just copy dll-s and subdirs from your gtk+ installation into sodipodi program directory, so you do not have to install/ uninstall gtk+ constantly.
