Well,
show me single, working and well-behaving (of the whole application)
standpoint patch, that was suggested, and was rejected because of
relying to external libraries.
There is none.
So the whole argument about library dependency/non-dependency 
is big no-issue for me.

It would do good, if you'd study the situation a bit more
thoroughly. The situations are not very similar.
