Maybe initially. I did not follow it very closely back then.
But what I see now is powerful branding everywhere.

As I alrady told to Uraeus - show me single specific solution
(patch or reasonably elaborated spec), that was well-behaving
and got rejected because of extra library dependencies? Or the
same of extra SVG compliance. Or where I have told, that anything
cannot be incorporated, because it was C++?
KDE frontend is in C++ and brings up heck a lot of libraries,
and it is still there.

It is more complex in OSS/FS. Important for what? What are
the goals that advertizing helps to achieve?
