killer feature? a proposal

hi i just made some hefty work in sodipodi and an idea came to my mind.
if someone has blender lying around on the harddisk, you can try this
after you read it. personally i am a big fan of blenders interface, with
the hotkeys and all the stuff and imho it has a great behaviour when
editing nodes of an object. that is, that you can select multiple nodes
of a shape, and apply scale/shear/rotation to them using the hotkeys.
i havent seen this feature in any commercial application to date, and i
think its a must have for a vector editor, and even takes minimal effort
to implement.

if you want to try what i mean, fire up blender now

you will see now the rectangle in front of you, if not press the space
bar and select Add > Mesh > Plane

now right click the rectangle, to select it (should be pink now)

press the tab key to go in node edit mode. select multiple nodes (yellow
nodes are selected ones) with shift + right click

now press the S or R button on your keyboard to either (S)cale or
(R)otate them.

i dont know much about how this could be implemented in sodipodi.
theoretically it would just need to extend the rotate/scale function to
check if a whole object is selected or just an array of nodes. as the
function does the same thing to an object as to individual nodes, it
would then just need to rotate the selected nodes, instead of the whole
object. theoretically i think.

i came up with this while editing isometric icons, and thought about how
easy the perspective would be to make if i had this blender feature. so
now up to the discussion what do you think of that way to handle
scale/rotate etc.
