It's public domain which means the author relinquished all rights to it
under copyright law, so you can do whatever you want with it (legally),
including even taking credit for having written it (legally but not
morally)! The best way to help out, usually, is to contribute back to
the community any improvements on, or extensions to, the stuff you use.
Just send the changes back to this mailing list if you can and you think
other people might find them useful.
