First a note: your mailer does not cut long lines. Instead they are sent
without a line-break. Please configure it so it would, as quoting the
message is annoying.

Regarding your request: there is a free (as in speech) tool that allows
converting Post Script (including EPS) and PDF into SVG (and other vector
graphics formats). It is called pstoedit:

From my experience, it doesn't always work spectacularly. This is expected
because of the complexity of the PostScript language and the fact that it
is Turing Complete.

As for Adobe Illustrator files, I think they are simply well-formed
(but still valid) EPS files. Translating them directly into SVG may be
less problematic than through an EPS converter.
