Interim Release: Y 0.2.1

Hi all,

It looks like I won't be able to release 0.3 as I had originally hoped.
Whilst modifying the code for the buffers I've come to the realisation
that the whole buffers/themes thing needs more work before it's ready for
people to start writing widgets and themes for. I'd rather not waste
people's time by getting them to write to a doomed API, so I'm going to
recommend you hold off until I've had time to sit down and work out the
changes. If anyone has any suggestions as to how the themes and buffers
API should work, send them to the list, or better yet, branch from
Y--devel and write it :)

In the mean time, I've made an interim release of Y, version 0.2.1, which
corresponds to [email protected]/Y--devel--0.2--patch-52. This
contains all the recent updates by myself and asuffield, so it's really
just for people who don't have arch access yet.

0.2.1 is available from the downloads page on http://www.y-windows.org/

Things to look forward to in the future:

asuffield has taken up the task of keymapping and is doing well at it.
You can see some of the work in 0.2.1, though none of it is active yet.

asuffield will be altering the protocol to support multiple socket pairs
from clients (this will mean the client libraries have to change too)

when I get a chance, I will be fixing up buffers and themes so that I'm
happy with them, they're a fairly large and fundamental part of the server
so I am taking great pains to make them suck as little as possible.

Regards,

  Mark.
