It would be great if this list was used to discuss Y development. It's not -- that's rather the point of this entire thread. You all retreat into your holes and (supposedly) code away, without any input or feedback. This is not how an opensource project works, it's how it fails. (Yes, I've seen it said time and time again "blah blah blah hey stupid the code is in arch blah blah blah" but the point is that stale code is no good to anyone -- it generates waste through duplicate and misguided effort) > Y will be done when it is done. I've watched this list for a long time, hoping that the developers "leading" the project would get a clue and stop assulting everyone who asks a question or voices an opinion here. You haven't, and the project has failed (not will fail, has failed). I seriously doubt Y will ever be done in any meaningful way, unless it acquires an actual leader/maintainer that understands how to manage a project like this. > Everyone who disagrees with the way this works can piss off: at > least that should reduce the amount of crap in my inbox. If your inbox is seriously affected by the five or six messages a month from someone asking how (s)he can help and being told to piss off, or by someone timidly asking if anything new has happened, and being told off, perhaps you should switch to the digest format. I, on the other hand, will just be unsubscribing. Aaron
