Re: New Hope for Y-Windows ?

FWIW, I *do* remember a time back when there was some work being done  
that people came up with patches and it was said that "there's other  
nonpublic work done, I/we won't take your patch." Maybe that's my  
misinterpretation of events, but I remember when I was trying to get  
some patches for FreeBSD finished, it came up that "nobody else  
should do work because so-and-so is going to merge lots of changes  
that will conflict with anything anyone else does" so I shelved it  
and moved on to other things, and then the project died. If there was  
some action on Y again, I'd be thrilled (I've thought about picking  
it up, I've got an active *NIX machine again and would like to ditch  
X sooner rather than later), but I think for the most part, X is  
getting good enough for most people....
Incidentally, is there any chance of maybe using something other than  
Arch for the new source tree?
