Works for me (tm)  :)

Does pilot-xfer by itself work for you?  Try that to verify that it's
not the kerneo or pilot-link messing up.  If that works, then move on to
gpilot (but I've never used it so I'm not any help there...)

Oh, you do have the latest version of pilot-link from pilot-link.org,
right?
