Well, it is difficult to find those. We have several dozen of people
subscribed to the mailinglist and almost the same number over time as
contributors. Who shall be contacted directly and who not? And if we
contact all, what's the difference to a mailinglist posting then?

Well, probably not a formal vote. But for measure of positive or
negative feedback the total count is a good indicator ;)
