Sync with Google calendar?

I ran across a statement that GPE can sync with Google Calendar
here:

but, here it says web calendars (I presume Google Calendar is a
web calendar) are not supported:

Can GPE sync with Google calendar?

[I've had a Zaurus for 4 years now, and it's still about as
useful as a brick because it won't sync with anything on my
Linux desktop.  About twice a year I spend a couple days
re-flashing and attempting to sync with various desktop apps
(QTopia, Evolution, KDEpim), but nothings ever worked.]
