Konqueror-emb : HTTP Proxying doesn't work ??

Hello, 

I tried to use the proxying functionnality in
Konqueror-embedded, provided with Familiar 0.8.4 
(KonqEmbd v.20030705)

There is a choice for HTTP proxy in a menu
(Preferences), in a dialog box with a checkbox and a
field with the name of the proxy (eg :
192.168.99.99:999 or http://192.168.99.99:999).
This method __ doesn't work __, Konq-embd always makes
direct DNS requests and HTTP requests.

On the page of Konq-embedded, Simon Hausman wrote :

Sure, although this is currently a bit rudimentary,
with regard to configurability. If you want to use a
HTTP proxy server make sure to set the HTTP_PROXY
environment variable appropriately. Like for example
HTTP_PROXY="http://proxy.foo.com:3128/" . In addition
the NO_PROXY_FOR environment variable is supported.
Set it up to a list of servers for which you do not
want to use a HTTP proxy server. 
There is work in progress for a nice configuration
dialog for this, combined with storing these settings
in a persistent way, not using environment variables. 

I tried this method : 
I put the name of the HTTP proxy in the env_var
HTTP_PROXY in /etc/profile, and it __ doesn't work too
__ ... 


Or should I initialize the env_var HTTP_PROXY in
another file used at boot time, to obtain a system
wide env_var ?
(I tried to put it in a created "rc.local" file, but
it seems that this mecanism doesn't work with Familiar
– there is no rc.local neither rc.sysinit in the
original Familiar distro)

Thanks in advance for any advice for use of http proxy
with Konq-embedded.
