Backlight off!!?

Hello This request was a bit enclosed within a thank mail... so I don't know if all persons saw it. It's quite simple. For a while, the backlight of my iPAQ HP 5550 is turned off. I don't know if it is an hardware default... or if it can be reset to come back to a correct state? Is someone knows some (special and powerful) operations or commands I can try to attempt to turn it on? In advance many thanks for your help.
