RE: Wifi association

Well I had first had this problem using Opie over Familiar.  Under the
Network "control panel", it would scan and successfully find SSID around
me however getting it to actually associate was the problem.  Now since
switching to GPE I initially thought I was having the same problem,
however that is not the case.  Using it's network settings portion of
the gui it would not scan but after a manually specified the SSID and
security settings it associated and began passing traffic.  W00T.

My experience is that guis just don't do it right for all cards. Did you

try the command line? If ifconfig shows the interface but no ip then 
take it down with ifdown and up again with ifup. Or if this does not 
help try more direct approach with iwconfig and ifconfig. If you get it 
working don't try to configure the card with the gui again or you are 
back to square one.
