Half Bricking h3970

Hello List,

I think, I've have-bricked my device by performing the following things:

1. the device was running the current  familiar 0.8.4 release - so far.
2. my aim was to get a newer release of gpe so I decided to try Angstorm 
distri. -> I downloaded the file
3. I entered the serial console and performed load root via ymodem
4. I issued boot
5. screen got blank, I went to bed as it was already late night.
6. next morning (today) device reboots to serial console.
7. load root from the familiar distri jffs2 image
8. issued boot
9. plenty of lines offset ..................................... 01AB235C 
for 2 hourse.
10. I got nervous and impatient - I resettet the device
11. I get the bootloader but pushing the serial bootloader console 
doesn't work anymore (serial settings in minicom haven't changed)

What are the next steps? Is there a stepp aside to get a new one?

Any help on regaining control over this device is appreciated!
