Cannot boot into Bootldr on iPaq h5550

I have problems installing Familiar Linux v0.8.4 on my iPAQ H5550. I copied BootBlaster and bootldr to the iPAQ and successfully flashed the new bootldr. Selecting 'Verify' in BootBlaster says 'mach_type set to 203 = 0xcb' and 'You appear to have a valid OHH Bootloader 2.21.12 in flash. To access this Bootloader on the serial port, hold the joypad center and reset'. However, if I do that the iPAQ just buzzes and does not reboot. Rebooting without holding the joypad center just boots into WinCE.
