Missing serial port device with 2.4.7 devfs

I finally received my dual pcmcia adapter, an 256Mb CF flash,
so I decided to kill familiar4-bootstrap with qpe and install
intimate.

I use the 2.4.7 kernel.
When I boot familiar from the builtin flash, I can login
on ttySA0.

When I install the CF flash card and boot into intimate, I get
devfs. But I have no /dev/tts/0, not even the /dev/tts
directory. Why?

I tried to set up getty on both /dev/tts/0 and /dev/ttySA0,
but both respawn too quickly. /dev/tts/0 does not appear.
I can't login on the serial port (cradle), but I do see
console output.

I have installed all 2.4.7 modules packages, except
4-5 of them, which I don't think I need.

Which kernel module should make /dev/tts/0 ?

P.S. During boot, DTR is dropped twice.
That does not happen when I boot familiar.

P.P.S. After a suspend, the CF flash disk does not get
ready again and nothing works. Too bad.
