freeze after suspend - 2nd try

I realize it's bad form to repost, but I'd really
like to know if there is something awry in my Intimate set-up
or whether a freeze after suspend is generic with Intimate
running over Familiar 0.5.X:

I'm finding that my Intimate installation
is freezing after a suspend (from button or menu) either with a 
Toshiba 2GB PC card drive or a microdrive.

The setup is familiar v0.5 + kernel 2.4.16 (hh6 or so) + ion
+ intimate on PC card or microdrive.

Pressing the button after a suspend will bring
back the screen, but it's not taking any input
from xstroke or gtk-menu.

The iPAQ doesn't freeze if I do a _very_ brief suspend,
but otherwise reliably locks up (solid, even serial 
console is dead)
