I do not think any of your changes does this, because most probably I 
compiled 2.6.12.5 and 2.6.13 with same patch set from Michaels page, and 
2.6.12 is OK while 2.6.13 is not.. it may happen I changed some config 
however. 
To me it seems more like some change from 2.6.12 to 2.6.13 
related to ide or cardmgr.

I'd like to, but there is no precompiled image and I am not able to cross 
compile anything now.
