Font not found in fixed error in Xkbd

Hi all,
      I have been working on a uClibc busybox
fileystem for an ARM based system. The Kdrive server
has been compiled with the host.def configurations:

#define KdriveServer YES
#define BuildFonts NO
#define BuildFreetype YES

X seems to be running perfectly. I have alo compiled
matchbox, rxvt and a few gtk applications that seem to
be working perfectly.
But i get an error while running xkbd. While testing
it on the ARM based board , it gives me an error
saying "cant find suitable font in 'fixed' ". 

I get the same font not found error when running rxvt
but the terminal shows up .

I do understand that the font is picked up from the
qwerty.xkbd file . But can the font be a fixed one (
provided by Xfbdev) or does it necessarily have to be
a scalable font ? 

Where does Xfbdev pick up the fonts from ? And how
does it provide them to other applications ?

Any comments will be appreciated.
