A couple of minor issues installing for Redhat

I'm installing Matchbox as the window manager for my kids to use. I *LOVE* the simplicity of the resulting interface.

But now whenever I try to use any of the following window manager options, I get a "failed to get lock in /home/<username>/.Xauthority". The offending options (so far) are:
-use-titlebar yes
-use-desktop-mode decorated
-use-dialog-mode free

Have I done something wrong in the compilation?
