no themeing support on debian

 
hi -- i'm running the current debian sarge version(s) of matchbox:  
    libmatchbox1   1.4-1          shared library for Matchbox Project applicat
    matchbox       0.6.2-1.1      A X11 Window manager for handheld devices
    matchbox-commo 0.8-1          common files for Matchbox Project applicatio
    matchbox-panel 0.8.3-1        desktop panel for resource-limited systems
    matchbox-panel 0.1-2          panel manager for matchbox-panel
    matchbox-theme 0.3-1          extra themes for matchbox-window-manager
    matchbox-windo 0.8.4-1        window manager for resource-limited systems

after upgrading to this version, i've noticed that my font selections
are no longer honored, and, in fact, matchbox reports:
    matchbox: This matchbox build does not support themeing

is this intentional?  or is it perhaps related to matt's recent checkin
relating to only building a standalone build if explicitly requested?

i'm just trying to figure out if i have to start building my own copies
of matchbox from here on...
