Hi all, and many thanks for expressing an interest in matchbox !

Im close to releasing version 0.1.8 of matchbox which brings in mainly
minor fixes and will be the first release to be available in .deb
format aswell as existing ipkg and tarball packages.

Up until version 0.2 I plan to spend my time fixing bugs,
implementing ICCCM standards and mainly tidying the code rather than
adding any new features.

For 0.2 and onwards I plan to implement a themeing engine and greatly
improve the dockapp handling ( allow alignment etc ).

On the subject of dockapps, its been suggested to me ( and I think its
a good idea ) that some sort of basic standard is implemented for them
working well in matchbox. The first thing that comes to mind is a
standard size - thoughts ?

If you want to help out with matchbox development but are not a
programmer, I greatly appreciate people trying _lots_ of different
apps out on matchbox and seeing which ones are handled badly, and maybe
even break matchbox. Also theres always documentation .....

Id like to 'transform' some applications into toolbar apps and see how
they work ( toolbar apps being like xkbd, which are quickly
collapse-able ), ideas include an mp3 player and a cmd line program
launcher, maybe even a mini x-terminal. Thoughts, contributions ?

Thanks again;
