I posted in the OESF forum
(http://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=22015) about difficulties
in communicating with a Sharp Zaurus C1000 (Akita) to a PC running Windows
XP.
Specifically, TCP/IP-over-USB does not work with Window's RNDIS
implementation, and the Z does not work as a USB Mass-Storage Device.
These appeared to be known issues, but as I did not see them written up in
the bug database, I did so myself. They are now in the OE bug DB as bugs
# 1619 and 1621. Please note that I believe that these issues affect not
just the C1000, but also the C3x00 models, and possibly all models with
the pxa27x processor.
One of the forum comments on networking over USB (from March 2006) said:
The Cxx00 doesn't talk to Windows correctly yet. Richard Purdie "has
some hints" which should make it work but he hasn't had time to implement
them yet. :-/
As I'd really like to communicate to XP, I've got my fingers crossed that
he, or someone else, knows how to resolve this.
Thank you.
