voip on a SL-6000/tosa?

Does the current release of OpenZaurus for the SL-6000/tosa have all
of the bits that one would need to run a simple voip application.  I
played with it a while back and seem to remember having trouble
getting sound to behave.

Thought I'd ask before diving into it again.

Which branch should I build from to get a stable modern platform for
the tosa?  Is the 3.5.5 branch relatively stable or is it rapidly
changing?
