In my opinion a new branch from .dev is the better way to acheive this goal than try and update the oz354x to a new release. This opinion is acheived due to two factors. 1) The lack of developers means porting and testing for .dev is a long process. 2) There have been many many build fixes in .dev which are not in .oz354x, these for one stop me being an effective developer as my base machine is amd64. My suggestion would be to take the versions defined by angstrom-2007.1 but make use of gcc 3.4.4, binutils-2.16 and glibc 2.3.5 and work from this point on stabalising. Otherwise I think we risk OZ 3.5.5 taking forever and getting slated for many many old versions of software.
