I have installed the GPE version of this preliminary release on my akita and it looks like a good start. Problems: 1. Suspend -- you can suspend the machine, but once you do, you can't reawaken it. I tried this both via the 'suspend' item on the system menu and by pushing the power button. Recovery is possible only by removing the battery and rebooting. 2. System time-keeping -- this is completely haywire. Each time you reboot, it resets the date/time to 3/20/2006 and sometime in the early morning. Perhaps the date/time the system was built? 3. /etc/fstab -- fstab has entries for mounting an SD card for both the 2.4 and 2.6 kernels, the 2.4 occurring first. Why include that in a system that is shipping with a 2.6 kernel. I commented it out. 4. SD card -- commenting out the 2.4 SD card entry in fstab did not help with the main problem. I have a .5 Gbyte Kingston SD card with an ext2 (maybe ext3? I don't remember) filesystem on it. This card works fine with pdaxrom. This release will not mount it. However, if, instead, I insert the fat16-formatted card I used to flash the system, it mounts that card correctly on /media/card. Good news: 1. Wireless works -- D-Link DCF-660W. 2. The system feels snappy, much crisper than the 2.4-based pdaxrom, though admittedly I haven't used it much. Again, good start, folks. I will submit the problems listed above as bug reports. /Don Allen Marcin Juszkiewicz wrote: >OpenZaurus 3.5.4.1 alpha1 release is available for testing. > >URL: http://ewi546.ewi.utwente.nl/tmp/hrw/3.5.4.1-test/alpha1/ > >Spitz (sl-c3000) and Borzoi (sl-c3100) images are the same so we united them. >C7x0 machines have issues with sound which will be fixed before release. > >test it and report bugs, fixes, ideas.. > >OE Bugtracker: http://bugs.treke.net/ >GPE Bugtracker: http://handhelds.org/bugzilla/ >OPIE Bugtracker: http://opie-bugs.oszine.de/ > >All feedback goes to [email protected] ONLY > >Kernel modules are provided in modules/ subdirs.
