Just a question, because I noticed the same behaviour on my collie: When I 
reboot the machine "the hard way" (e.g. using the battery switch on the back 
of the beast) it always starts with the time in the past (as far as I can see 
that is the build/compile time).

I don't know the hardware of the collie so: Doesn't the collie have a hardware 
clock? If so, why is the date reset after a hard boot? And if not: How does 
the machine keep the time in suspend mode?
