I got it working :). I reinstalled the prism3 packages and then redid the configuration in the network manager one more time and everything worked. I think the issue may have been a combination of a dying access point and maybe a missconfiguration when I tried a second access point. Also someone pointed out my original title was ScanDisk instead of Sandisk (oops :-P).
