Since you're new to this your experiences with different > lengths of presses would be good. Yes, I've figured out that a short tap on the power button helps. This should be adressed though, there is nothing more annoying than fiddling to get your zaurus to stay on when you need to make a quick note. It looks like the system percieves a press to the powerbuttons as several presses so it turns off right away. > > - It is incredibly slow compared to the cacko ROM. > > Slow? It is not the boot that bothers me, I reboot it only every 3 months or something so that is not the problem. As Samuel also noticed, it takes 5-10 seconds to get it to respond to anything when you take it off standby. > > - Battery consumption is much higher. > > This is an interesting observation. My system also loses power when switched off, but also uses more power when it is operating. I think the loss of power when switched off might be related to the powerbutton problem. (I've found it turned on in my pocket a few times) The extra power consumption when operating might be related to the harddisk. The Cacko ROM is in flash and hardly ever uses the harddisk. The Hardisk eats lots of power compared to the rest of the zaurus i think. > > - I cant seem to find a good audiobook player. I do get error messages that it cannot save its data when I try to shut it down. A while later, it can save its data though. > > I really do love the much more current software on OZ and the larger > > choice of software so any help is very much appreciated!! > > Perhaps you should try gpe and see if it works better for you? I might, but I like the looks of opie. I'll try if i can get these problems resolved first... :) Thanks, Ger. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
