Well it is more than motivation: Opie was founded to be Qtopia  
compatible (which
it is! regardless on what lorn claims). Well if we use Qtopia Core 4  
we will be
compatible? Is that enough? What about the true Qtopia4? Should we  
evaluate its
usage. Or are we confident enough it will be of poor quality and  
discard it right
from the beginning.

As TT cares for developers I think it is their duty to present a  
Qtopia Roadmap
and give a Technology Preview - like they did with Qt4 - so we could  
evaluate
if developing of applications is enough or if we are forced to design  
a new
platform. In the later case we should consider switching to a Framework
that does not require royalties as well.

PS: I really hope TT follows a clear Roadmap and Policy on Qtopia4!  
Not the
