Well I can compile Opie against a Qtopia libqpe, I can compile Opie
against the Opie version of libqpe and let it run on Qtopia... that
is pretty compatible to me.... well just look at our library directory
and you will see it yourself... anyway

Well if we want to be Qtopia compatible and we use Qtopia Core
we are already compatible?! Or why is Qtopia PDA more Qtopia than
the Qtopia Core?

1.) In University with my Software Engineering experience my quality
requirement grew.
e.g. every code I write nowadays is almos t98% covered with
useful test
cases, planted with invariants and specification. This is
nothing Qtopia
let alone GPE offers. GPE is not even written in a Object
Orientated Language...
2.) Where did I mention GPE at all? It is C, no one sane writes
Frameworks
in C any more. M$ stopped it, Apple never did it, the founder
of GNOME
recognized it...
3.) I have the impression that your Marketing Group won the battle
against your
developers. This means you are tight on schedule and need to meet
tight deadlines. This is like a "Death March" project. So
development
must be cheap, it must be fast. This is the basic Software
Engineering
triangle. The result is if you need it fast and cheap, your
quality will
suffer. So this is basic Software Engineering, nothing against
TT or
Qtopia. I love Qt (and Trolltech) because they always cared
more for
the quality then the time.
On Qtopia you have different constraints. I hope for longterm
success
of Linux, this is why Qtopia quality is so important. If you
scare customers
away Free Software/Linux will not win and you will not make
any money.
I really hope that the same thinking you spent on Qt will be
spend on
Qtopia. And I hope that you have talented staff to create a
great platform
with good documentation and a high quality. And I hope that
your leaders...

Sorry this does not make sense to me:
1.) Qt is a Toolkit, QtSql, QtSQL, QtXML do not require widgets
2.) Qt and Qtopia are both Software Products
3.) So Teambuilder, QSA and Qtopia are in the same category? Or is
Qtopia inbetween Teambuilder and Qt?
please clarify?!

Well it is not that I want, but it is that Qtopia is a Software
Product and not
a platform.
I hope your devs refuses the pressure and create a kicking ass Qtopia
Platform that meets modern Quality Standards and is like Qt state of
the art....
kind regards
h.
