Controlling Opie with a keypad

Hi,

I've been trying to work out whether it's possible to control Opie with
key presses from a keypad on a mobile phone. I've been creating a system
using the OpenEmbedded project, but I cannot seem to get key presses to
work within Opie.

As I understand it, Qt Embedded can support navigation between widgets
if it is compile using -qconfig qpe -keypad-mode, I have tried this yet
still I seem to get no response.

I found some documentation on the Qt Embedded website about how Qt/E 2.2
expects specific key codes to trigger events within Qt/E. This is the
most recent documentation that I could find, which was slightly worrying
as the version of Qt/E being compiled within OE is 2.3.10. However, I
got the guys that are working on the kernel side of this project to
modify the output of some of the keys on the keypad to some of the
values in the document mentioned above, but still I get nothing within Opie.

I have even tried enabling VNC and starting Opie so that I can connect
to it with VNC, I then started the opie-keyview program, but I seem to
get nothing output by the program other than 5 labelled text boxees. I
also seem to get no output within opie-keyview if I press keys on the
host that I am using for the VNC session (I assume this should be
generating something within opie-keyview?).

My main question is, is it possible to control Opie from a keypad if I
enable keypad-mode for qpe? If so, does anyone have any idea what I may
be doing wrong?

Thanks
