I think we need to see what Qtopia 4 offers as a base for the new Opie before we can come up with any definite feature list. One thing we have discussed at a high level have been the desire to focus on fewer base applications, but make them better, less bugs, etc. One shortcoming of Opie I was that someone would join the project, commit a new application and then disappear. We ended up with lots of applications which were 90% complete and unmaintained. So I think we need to limit the scope. But let's see what we're starting with and then start the feature discussion. Also, it's not that Opie 1 sucks or anything, it is just that we are moving forward with a new base. Not unlike KDE is going through going from v3 to v4. We really need to be using a more recent software base than Qt/E 2.3.x, and that transition will take time.
