Bluetooth on SL-5500

I just got a Belkin Bluetooth F8T020 CF card, which my 5500 with Opie 
1.2.1 and OZ 3.5.3-snapshot-20051024 recognised immediately. Cool.
I configured it in the management applet with the device name Zaurus
and the Passkey 123456 and enabled authentication and scanning. Doing
a scan for devices found my SonyEricsson Z520i cellphone, but there 
doesn't appear to be anything to click to make it connect. Am I
missing a button or another applet to do this?

The cellphone scanned and found it, but called it NoName, and
typing in the Passkey on the phone made it try to connect, but it
said that the Passkey was not the same as the one entered on the
other device (the Z).

Examining the files in /etc/bluetooth, I found that "pin" still
contained NoName, so I edited that manually to contain the pin 123456.
(Or should this contain the name? This is mentioned as a known bug on 
the wiki.)

hcid.conf refers to a "pin_helper" /opt/QtPalmtop/bin/bluepin which
doesn't exist, although the applet had set "name" to "Zaurus" correctly.
I edited hcid.conf to say auth enable, which the applet obviously hadn't
set.

I noticed that the irda device seems to have been activated in Network 
Settings, but it calls it "Unknown". Is there a specific Bluetooth
device that ought to appear?

I went through the excellent manual setup on the wiki (for GPRS), which
cleared up the pin_helper question, but when I killall'd hciattach, the
light on the card came on (a good sign, presumably :-) but the hciattach
command after it (hciattach /dev/tts/1 bcsp 921600) got me the error
message Unknown device type or id, so it obviously wants something else,
The card config claims to use serial_cs, but I don't know how to equate
that to a device, or what the parameters should be.

The later suggestion using ttySB0 gets me Can't open serial port, no 
such device, can't initialize device: illegal seek.

(Connecting to GPRS isn't my primary aim: I'd settle for being able to
transfer files from phone to Z).

Ejecting and reinserting the device makes the card light up then go
out. Now the Start Scan button in the manager doesn't work any more; it
tries to start, with the progress indicator flashing up a couple of
segments, then turns off, so something in the config has broken
somewhere.

Has anyone any idea what needs doing to make it connect?
